Lectures

Lectures are integral to the assembly, and distinguished figures in the academic and professional worlds are invited to contribute. What we group here as lectures can take many forms, from walking tours to prepared debates. It is the intention of EASA_Ireland to stimulate a genuine back-and-forth between participants and lecturers, rather than a typically tired didactic one-way experience. Lectures will form the basis of the Dublin leg, with a series of high profile Irish architects tackling both the theme of Adaptation and a series of other issues. With the intention of putting Irish Architecture in a European context, EASA_Ireland plans to include presentations from Ireland’s recent entries to the Venice Biennale and the Lisboa Architectural Triennale.

Obviously architecture – in all its forms – is generally the main topic of lectures, but experts from many different fields, such as photography, engineering, sociology, history, horticulture and the building trades often provide a different viewpoint, encouraging participants to follow a wider and more
